Why Sign Up?

Most Bible reading plans start strong in Genesis… and then crash somewhere in Leviticus. Why? Because the Old Testament can be challenging. It can feel like a long list of rules, genealogies, and rituals that don’t connect to Jesus.

But it isn’t, I promise! This part of our Bibles was the critical foundation to Jesus' ministry and testified to His life, death and resurrection. If it was important to Jesus, it should be important to us too!

This year, I’m inviting you to walk through the first five books of the Bible, the Torah, one portion at a time. This ancient practice of reading has guided generations in understanding God’s story and how it points to Jesus!

What is the Torah Portion?

The Torah consists of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These books are divided into 54 "portions" or sections for readings. The goal is to complete the Torah within one year.

Since these portions cover only five books, the daily readings are fairly short and manageable, making it easier to stay committed to reading throughout the week.

How it Works

Beginning on October 18th, you will receive an email with the following...

The Portion

The weekly passage for you to read and reflect on. You can read it all at once or split it up throughout the week as your schedule allows.

My Reflection

A short, digestible reflection that provides historical and cultural context, and practical insights to help you engage more deeply with the text.

Seeing Jesus

A brief teaching that highlights how the presence and person of Jesus can be seen in the week’s Torah Portion.
