I have two exciting updates I wanted to share with you. One is a finished project, and the other is a big one in the works!
First, my Church completed a 4-week bible study through the book of Ruth. I created bible study material to facilitate learning throughout the week and during our group gatherings. I have made the booklets available in two ways on my website:
Free pdf download
Physical book (pay the cost of printing and shipping)
I do not make a profit from the material. I genuinely desire to remove any barriers and want you to be encouraged and inspired to study the Old Testament!
The Ruth study also has an expanded section called “Tracing the Theme”, which connects each chapter’s theme to the rest of Scripture and ultimately to Jesus. In our church version, we left that section out because we covered these big ideas during our in-person teaching time. But it was incorporated back in for anyone completing the study on their own.
Whether you missed our summer study or participated and benefited from the readings, please consider passing along the link to someone in your circle who would benefit from it.
One of my deepest desires has been to help people grow in biblical literacy, especially when it comes to the Old Testament. I see this as a sincere need in the Church.
After completing the Ruth study, I’ve felt a calling to keep going, encouraging others to open the foreign, challenging, and sometimes weird parts of their Bible to see how it all points to Jesus.
Which brings me to the second announcement…I’m currently working on a new study resource through the book of Genesis! And let’s be real, Genesis is no short book, so this will be a labor of love with lots of coffee involved.
Based on feedback from the Ruth study, I’m adding more maps and illustrations to help bring the text to life, and changing some formatting. I’ve worked out the details, and to create all the custom visuals for Genesis, it will cost $600 to work with a skilled illustrator. If you’d like to help support these studies by covering the hard costs involved, you can head over to my support page.
Donations don’t go toward my time researching, writing, formatting, or the books promised to my editor :) Only the hard costs for materials that ensure the studies contain resources that help people better understand the Word of God.
